Selective Call Acceptance

This feature allows you control over which calls you will take. You can pre-program 12 numbers into your list. If the caller's number is on your list, the call will come through normally. If the caller is not on your list, the caller will hear an announcement that your number is not accepting calls at this time.

To activate, you will need to first call 1-800-442-8664 and ask a Customer Service Representative to add this feature to your account. Once it's added, follow these steps:

  1. Pick up your handset and listen for the dial tone
  2. Dial *68
  3. You'll hear an announcement indicating that this feature is either on or off
  4. Another announcement will then tell you how many (if any) numbers are currently stored on your list
  5. You'll then be instructed to dial 3 to turn the feature on (this will also turn off Selective Call Rejection)

To add a number to the list

  1. Dial #
  2. Follow the voice instructions
  3. You can store up to 12 numbers on your list

To delete a number from the list

  1. Dial #
  2. Follow the voice instructions

To hear the list of currently stored numbers

  1. Dial 1
  2. After the list is read, voice instructions will follow

To hear instructions again

  1. Dial 0

When somebody tries to call you...

  • If the caller's number is on your list, the call will come through normally
  • If the caller's number is not on your list, the caller will hear an announcement that your number is not accepting calls at this time

 

Price = $4/month for residential customers; $6/month for business customers

I'm on a very limited budget. My one real luxury is my Internet so I can do my genealogical research online.
